Postpartum Care For Mom And Baby

Postpartum planning is essential and begins in the prenatal period. Postpartum is a crucial time for you and your baby. It's a time when physical and emotional healing takes place, and the foundation for a strong bond and attachment is established. This can benefit you and your family as a whole.

We will focus on physical recovery, emotional well-being, breastfeeding and baby care, bonding and attachment, sleep (for mom and baby), support systems, and self-care.

We will have 5 postpartum visits at your home (24-48 hours, 3-4 days, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and 6 weeks), where we will provide physical and emotional support as well as breastfeeding support if needed.

Wise Womb Midwifery will File for a birth certificate and social security number for your baby.

The postpartum period is a time of adjustment, learning, and growth for everyone involved. I strongly believe that having a well-thought-out plan in place can provide a supportive framework for this important journey.

Midwifery Care Consultation

There is the right midwife for every woman.

Your journey will be intimate and personal, just like birth, you will carry this experience for the rest of your life. I offer free consultation, in person, so we can get to know each other and feel confident that we are the right fit for each other.

It will be about an hour long. I will listen to you, and learn about your belief systems, expectations, and vision as well as your health history and existing health conditions. I will address any concerns and questions about your care and community-based births (home births and birth center births)

If you decide that Wise Womb Midwifery is the place for you we will schedule your first prenatal visit and give you access to our electronic record portal to fill out your paperwork and health history.
